PUCL Job#1194 - Flow cytometry Position New Jersey (posted July 30, 2018)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all laboratory testing.
  • Maintains and uses the flow cytometer to generate data.
  • Reviews and evaluates the validity and accuracy of test results. 
  • Identifies education and competency needs and conducts laboratory personnel training programs on instrumentation, technology and procedure as needed.
  • Establishes the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including precision, accuracy, reference ranges and reportable ranges. 
  • Coordinates equipment and instrumentation maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration program to ensure proper working order. 
  • Oversees quality control and ensures compliance with rules, regulations and accreditation requirements of regulatory agencies, including Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
  • Oversees quality control, quality assurance and preventive maintenance activities for the assigned section. 
  • Previews and ensures technological and scientific accuracy of Quality Assurance (QA) tests and procedures. 
  • Recognizes and addresses Quality Assurance (QA) concerns by initiating QA reports and conferring with Medical Staff on Laboratory findings, value of certain clinical tests, test availability and turnaround.
  • Manages and maintains all sectional quality control records. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related.
  • MT(ASCP) certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires a high degree of care and attention with strict adherence to defined clinical testing protocols
