Staff Development Scientist (BEC0019)

Location: Miami, FL

 

The Staff Development Scientist will be working in a team environment to develop new products, to evaluate and implement new technologies, and to partake or lead in supporting post-launch process improvement and quality issues. The candidate must have the following qualities: 

Possesses In-depth knowledge and experience in Flow Cytometry and basic knowledge of related disciplines;

Understands and adheres to GLP, GMP, and other best practices;

Applies analytical skills and independent judgment to develop innovative, practical and consistent solutions to a wide range of complex problems.

Creates a new perspective using existing solutions and adapts to changing priorities;

Works independently with minimal guidance;

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience;

Effectively communicates and builds consensus;

Impacts activities within own team and with other functional team members.

                                            

Summary of responsibilities:  Works with minimal guidance on the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. The Staff Development Scientist performs experiments; reviews test results for experimental error and determines if repeats are required; participates in planning studies for the development, evolution and optimization of assay(s); maintains well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant procedures; and supports post-launch to resolve performance and/or quality issues.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Participates in the analysis, design and development of system applications.

Plans and performs experiments and studies, and evaluates results.

Maintains knowledge of industry principles and advancements. May publish articles in scientific journals and produce patentable work.

Reports status of experiments to supervisor.

Works closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality, as well as other functional areas.

May lead functional teams or projects.

Provides quality assurance for adherence to technical standards.

Supports technologies post‐launch to resolve performance issues.

Adheres to product specifications and makes recommendations for adjustments to specifications.

Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.

Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.

Performs other related duties as required.

 

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in field with 8+ years exp. OR Master’s degree in field with 5+ years exp. OR Doctoral degree in field with 3+ years exp. Flow Cytometry experience required.
