
Manager – Flow Cytometry.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN
We are looking to add a Manager to our growing Global Flow Cytometry group. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations and on-time delivery of testing services; manage equipment, instrument, and personnel to meet commitments to clients and department goals; engage in continuous improvement of the testing services and meet client expectations in delivery of testing services. You will have the opportunity to participate in the application of Flow Cytometry in Clinical Trials. The position requires solid knowledge of multi-color Flow Cytometry, excellent communication skills, scientific data analysis, project planning skills as well as prior hands on experience managing people and teams. The main responsibilities of this position include:</U
· Manages and participates in projects and activities with global scope;
· Provides managerial leadership to the local department staff
· Communicates the goals and strategy of CCLS, the lab and the department;
· Manages all day-to-day delivery of testing services of the local department;
· Ensures testing quality and on-time delivery of testing services;
· Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction;
· Manages and all day-to-day production operations of the local department;
· Manages all non-production activities and obligations of the local department;
· Participates in and supports client visits, audits and inquiries to ensure complete fulfillment of requests and interests.
· Ensures quality and timely delivery of both production and non-production activities;
· Monitors and reports performance and results against targets and global standards;
· Ensures regulatory compliance within the local department;
· Communicates to all department staff production and non-production standards;
· Assists director in the establishment of globally consistent production standards;
· Participates in client visits, audits and inquiries; ensures complete fulfillment of requests and audit findings.
· Supports Six Sigma and other process improvement initiatives.
· Recruits, trains, develops and retains sufficient supervisory resources for the effective oversight of the local and global department operations;
· Converts volume forecasts into specific personnel resource needs and works with the department director (or local associate director) and senior director operations to secure necessary and appropriate personnel in a timely manner;
· Supports marketing and sales as needed in their efforts to meet specific client requests for testing services.

Education/Qualifications:
The Required Education for the Manager – Flow Cytometry
· BS degree in Medical Technology or related degree (ie: Biology, Chemistry or other Life Science degree). Degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
· Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific discipline is preferred
· Professional certification (ASCP, AABB or other) in area(s) of expertise is preferred.
Experience:
Required Experience/Skills for the Manager – Flow Cytometry.
· 6 years experience in a laboratory following clinical training is required.
· A Minimum of 2 years supervisory and management experience in a clinical laboratory environment is needed.
· Proficient at Microsoft Word and Excel and knowledge of clinical laboratory automation, system and middleware software related to Flow Cytometry platform operations preferred.
· Proficient at using Becton Dickinson Diva software and/or Data Innovations EP Evaluator is an advantage
· Knowledge of CAP/CLIA regulations is required.
· Knowledge of clinical laboratory automation, system software, Microsoft applications, and laboratory statistics.
· Effective communication skills with technical staff, business development staff, peers and clients.
