Job Summary

The Assay Manager for Clinical Trials will be an integral member of the Tolerance Assay and Data Analysis (TADA) group within the ITN. He/She will perform complex flow cytometric analysis on the data generated from multiple clinical trials, supported and conducted by Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) and sponsored by National Institute of Health (NIH). He/She will be responsible for implementing Quality Assurance measures to assure that flow cytometry data analysis meets all requested standards; will be responsible for developing cutting‐edge flow techniques to monitor drug effects and flow based pharmacodynamic markers to test the efficacy of drugs in various clinical trials; will contribute towards development of mechanistic experiments (including new strategies for biomarker identification) of clinical protocols by working with Principal Investigators and clinical trial physicians; will provide CRO/vendor management; will lead and manage certain collaborative R&D projects aiming at investigating behavior of immune cell populations under different conditions; will provide updates within the organization and in various scientific meetings, as needed; will develop new data delivery SOPs and monitor relevant scientific literature.

Required Qualifications

A PhD in Immunology with at least 3‐5 years relevant work experience in flow cytometry data analysis is required. Significant understanding of flow cytometry data analysis, in the context of clinical trials, and experience in design/set up of cell based assays is critical. Experience in managing large data sets generated in large scale multi‐site clinical trials is necessary. In‐depth knowledge of various flow cytometry instruments and analysis software (e.g. FloJo, Spotfire etc.) is a must. In depth knowledge of cellular immunology and molecular biology of human cells and assays is essential

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong

computer skills are also required. Prior experience in managing flow cytometry analysis group is preferred. In‐depth knowledge of cutting edge technologies (e.g. tetramer staining), as well as ELISPOT and other technologies using multiplex platforms (e.g. Luminex, MSD, etc.) are preferred. Must express strong interests in innovative research tools for new approaches for data analysis, and become familiar with a wide array of necessary software tools especially for visual representation of large data sets.
