The successful candidate will be responsible for development and execution of CyTOF assays for characterizing cellular heterogeneity in normal and disease states. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, maintain accurate records and be able to communicate effectively with multiple project teams, in addition to design, execution and data interpretation of CyTOF experiments. Duties will also include training additional users and establishing standardized operating procedures, in addition to the daily management and operation of Helios. 

 

The candidate must have a PhD in immunology, hematology, cell biology or related field and possess a documented strong expertise in flow cytometric experimental design and analyses. The candidate must be able to work as part of a team environment. Experience operating flow cytometric analysis instrumentation and analysis software is required. Previous experience analyzing CyTOF or large multi-parameter flow cytometric data is strongly preferred/required. Additionally, prior experience in bioinformatics or statistics is highly desirable.

Education/Credentials required:

·         A Ph.D. in a relevant technical field or

·         A Master’s degree in a relevant technical field and  four years’ experience in a closely related research position or other relevant post graduate experience.

·         A Bachelor’s of Science degree and six years’ experience in a closely related research position or other relevant post graduate experience.

 

Experience/Skills required:

·         Ten years’ experience in closely related research and/or R&D.

·         Advanced expertise in both academic and closely related technical competence.

·         Sufficient peer reviewed publications

·         Sufficient formal presentations at professional meetings

·         Experience in development, optimization, and/or validation of test systems

·         Must be familiar with current regulatory requirements concerning test validation of clinical assays

·         Expert skill with spreadsheet and word processing programs

 

Physical and other requirements:

·         Ability to work all required overtime and take call as needed.

·         Must be able to lift 10 pounds

·         Must be able to sit and/or stand for extensive periods of time

·         Fine motor coordination.

·         Good visual acuity.

·         Mobility.

·         Involves judgment in planning work, assessing results, solving problems, and taking or recommending action. 

·         Ability to organize work, to meet deadlines and to work under stressful condition.

·         Absolute integrity in the accurate identification of samples, test performance and reporting of results.

·         Continual assessment of current literature.
