Here is the link to our old family site that was started in June 1995 and has been up ever since - this will be the 20th years of this family website.

I sent it up in 1995 when I first put this site on line (that was very early in web days too!!).  It's not very well organized but it's got a lot of photos on it - and recently I added a stack of photos from the 60s and 70s (Jan 2015) - But I just dumped them into a directory, so its a bit messy. (This is the link above)

2012 - New additions: Historic family recordings 1960s

I found a tape that was a compilation of various recordings I had made in the 1960's when we lived in Tambar Springs, NSW. (Looks like there is hardly anything there nowdays).

In addition to this, I recorded the entire moon Landing on July 20/21 1969 on a reel-to reel tape recorded and then copied the tapes to a cassette tape. We were in Narrabri at the time  and it was transmitted from Ch 9 I think from Tamworth. It's not clear to me the exact time - but the walk started at about 10am on the 21s in the USA but that would have been some time on the 22nd July in Australia. We hired a B&W TV for the occasion as we did not have TV at that time. You can hear my mother asking questions in the background which was annoying as I was taking this and mum kept chatting- this was at Ashford. That tape has been sitting around for about 30 years in a cupboard.

The initial recordings from everything else came from Tambar Springs were made on a small portable 4" reel to reel recorder - I think it belonged to the Lashbrook family and we borrowed it severl times. I still have the original tape. Whenever I could get a hold of the recorder , I was sneaking around recording everything happening in our home. Most times, Helen, Ann or mum were playing the piano.  Grandma Robinson (Mary Robinson) was there and she says something occassionally, Dad (Daryl Robinson) tries to get Naomi (Naomi Wrigley) to sing "do you want a pilot" (which she refuses to sing but dad does)....and Mum (Gwen Robinson)  and Paul read a short play and a poem or two... There is a nice point when Paul reads "a face of an angle" instead of "a face of an angel"..and is crorected by his mother...it's funny! They also recite the poor old horse which is also pretty funny.

The following are MP3 files - you can download them or just play them.
