The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced professional. This position will develop, evaluate and implement new diagnostic tests, methodologies and technologies in support of laboratory process improvement. Key duties include organization of new method validation data, preparation of data for publication and peer review, and participation in formal presentations; investigation, installation, evaluation and purchase of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, computer software/hardware, new reagent systems and other specialty items; and training of laboratory staff, residents and students in principles of laboratory methods and applications.
A Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or clinical laboratory science (CLS) or medical technology (MT) and two years of laboratory experience are required. Master’s degree in Immunology, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology or related field may be substituted for lab experience; HEW certification may be substituted for the specified degree. Expertise in molecular biology, flow cytometry and cell culture is preferred.
