The Instrument Field Application Scientist (IFAS) group supports EMD Millipore Instrumentation and platforms, focused specifically on Guava , Luminex and Amnis FlowSight instrumentation, software and associated kits.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide highly technical pre-sales and post-sales support to customers adopting, converting to, and/or optimizing/troubleshooting EMD Millipore instrumentation and platforms.

• Install hardware and software and train customers on Guava, Luminex and Amnis FlowSight instruments and kits.

• Provide in-field post-sales troubleshooting and optimizing support for Guava, Luminex and Amnis FlowSight instruments and kits.

• Give customer presentations and seminars on products within instrumentation platform portfolio.

• Work in field with Multiplex Cytometry Specialists (MCS) and Account Managers (AM) to identify and qualify instrumentation leads and support instrumentation demonstrations.

• Assist Product Management/R&D in assessing potential applications of company products to meet customer needs.

• Provide follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific applications to assist customers in optimizing applications.

• Responsible for manually demonstrating products and applications in key accounts and training customer and Account Managers on proper usage.

• Play a key role in enhancing differentiation of products and services on scientific, technical, and competitive principles.

• Provide feedback on market needs and issues with products and applications to Technical Services, R&D and Marketing.

• Support sales in marketing new products and applications through technical seminars, poster sessions, demonstrations, focused sales calls, and thought-leader networking.

• Network with opinion leaders in the key focus product areas

 

Territory Description:

- This Southern United States Instrument Field Application Scientist (IFAS) position must be based in the Houston, TX area. Consideration will also be given to candidates in Dallas, TX.

- This territory will require 70% overnight travel.

Requirements:

• Ph.D. preferred, or Master’s degree, in biological-based science with at least two years of flow 
  cytometry and cell biology laboratory experience.

• FAS, Sales, or Sales Support experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize a protocol.

• Ability to innovate and collaborate to develop solutions to complex problems.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization, inspiring teamwork to achieve results.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to implement and execute successful plans of action that balance 
  activities with customer needs, sales needs, and divisional needs.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
