
The Yale School of Medicine Flow Cytometry Core has a job opening for a Cell Sorter Operator.
Here is the basic description:
Operate and maintain a FACSAria multicolor flow cytometer. Oversee and maintain an adjacent LSRII and a nearby FACSCalibur FACS analyzer. Train users on the operation of both analyzers and sorters. Consult with users on experimental design and troubleshoot outcomes. Develop and implement new procedures and policies related to flow cytometry in the Yale Core facility.
This is a management level position as a Biotechnology Associate I. We are looking for candidates with substantial flow experience and preferably hands-on sorting experience.
Yale is well-known for its leading immunology, cell biology, pharmacology and cancer research and the environment is very vibrant. Our facility is well-developed with over 800 active registered users and 180 different lab users (sorting and analysis). We currently have 6 sorters, 13 analyzers, an Amnis Imagestream X and a Bio-Rad Bio-Plex. There are seven employees and the facility is directed by Dr. Mark Shlomchik. We are continuing to grow as well.
