Flow Cytometry Research Assistant

Job-Specific Responsibilities

Position available for a Flow Cytometry Operator to join the Department of Immunology and participate in cutting-edge research on the immune system and immunologically-related diseases, using advanced cell-sorting technology. The Operator will participate in the operation, maintenance and quality control of several cell analyzers and sorters (incl. a MoFlo Astrios, BD Aria, BD-LSRII/Symphony and Cytek Aurora). He/she will perform cell sorting and flow analyses in collaboration with biomedical investigators at HMS, guide investigators in their experimental design, and train them for use of the instruments. Will also partake in setting and monitoring facility guidelines and protocols and in various administrative duties required for the operation and maintenance of the facility. We are looking for a team player for an interactive mission, ideally with robust experience and know-how in flow cytometry, but will also train a promising candidate.

Basic Qualifications

Two or more years of direct experience in flow cytometry or a related technology.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's degree in life sciences. Background in immunology as well as expertise with cytometry software (e.g. FlowJo, FCS Express) is a plus. Must also have have good communication skills and attention to detail.
