PUCL Job#1298 - Res Scientists- Flow core (Univ Louisville) (Posted Feb 19, 2021)

The Envirome Institute (EI) at the University of Louisville (UofL) is accepting applications for a Research Scientist to work as a team member in the Flow Cytometry Core. The EI houses several dynamic Centers and investigators across multiple UofL Departments at the Health Sciences and Belknap Campuses whose collective goal is to understand how exposure to environmental chemicals, particulates and volatiles impact health. The Research Scientist will oversee operations of the Flow Cytometry Core and assist EI investigators in analyzing cellular function and phenotype in human clinical and animal studies.

Primary responsibilities include performance of polychromatic flow cytometry or mass cytometry on Core instrumentation (MACSQuant, Fortessa, CyTOF) and the analysis of high dimensional data using FlowJo flow analysis software, R packages for flow cytometric data analyses, or equivalent informatic tools. The candidate will also be expected to develop new flow panels, prepare flow cytometry SOPs and present at internal, institutional, and external meetings.

A Ph.D. with 3-5 years of experience on polychromatic flow staining and analysis is required. The candidate should have experience in analysis of high dimensional data using FlowJo or the equivalent tools. Familiarity in operation of a CyTOF is preferred. Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality data. The candidate should also have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to operate effectively in a dynamic work environment.
