PUCL Job#1227 - Research Associate II Flow Core, Fort Detrick MD (Posted April 4, 2019)

The Flow Cytometry Core of the Cancer & Inflammation Program (CIP) is a service core which supports the research efforts of the Center for Cancer Research at the National Cancer Institute by providing expertise in the field of flow cytometry (using analyzers and sorters) with the goal of gaining a more thorough understanding of the biology of cancer and cancer cells.  Flow core staff provide technical advice on the experimental design of applications, which include immunophenotyping, cell function assays, cell cycle analysis and sorting. Work is performed per customer requirements, and no independent research is involved. We have an open opportunity for a Research Associate II position in the core. The job is located on the campus of Fort Detrick in Frederick, MD.

 

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

·      Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in a field related to biomedical research.  (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education). Foreign degrees must be evaluated for US equivalency.  

·      In addition to educational requirements, a minimum of five (5) years related biomedical experience

·       Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance

 

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Previous work experience with fluorescent cell sorting
  • Experience with BD flow cytometers and DIVA software
