You will performs immunological, molecular and cellular based assay services for government and commercial clients. You will perform services such as human primary cell isolations, maintains cell cultures, ELISA, ELISpot assays, Flow cytometry assays, molecular assays and other related cell based assays.

Essential Duties You'll Perform:

  • You will perform isolation and cryopreservation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or PBMC subsets from whole blood or leukopaks
  • You will conduct immunological assays including, but not limited to ELISA, ELISpot, Flow cytometry, etc and 
  • You will conducts molecular-based assays such as real time PCR, Ribogreen, Picogreen, etc.
  • You will independently plan and conduct DNA and RNA purification projects at various scales and from different material types using both manual and automated systems. Performs QC analyses (RNA/DNA integrity analysis, Real-Time PCR) to ensure that results meet specifications. Monitors assays and trouble shoots, as appropriate.
  • You will suggest research and development activities to support new product development
  • You will assist our Senior Scientist's to modify and re-optimize current assays or procedures to address changing technologies or the introduction of new assays
  • You will help train laboratory staff in accordance with SOPs and evaluate opportunities for revision of SOPs and makes necessary recommendations to improve efficiency and quality

Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Life Sciences, Biology, or other related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4 years of prior related laboratory experience

Other Required:

  • Ability to interact and function in a highly productive work environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, social, organizational and multi-tasking
  • Ability to lift and carry between 1-15 lbs.; frequently required to sit, grasp, and use right/left finger dexterity; May be exposed to a cold freezer environment (Freezer temperatures range between -20ºC -196ºC)
  • Able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a GLP or GMP environment preferred
