JOB POSTING: Research Associate– Flow Cytometry  Location: Athens, GA

ViCapsys is a privately-owned biotechnology company that is developing innovative products for cell therapy in diabetes. 

Main activities and responsibilities 

·     Running samples, trouble shooting experiments, equipment fault diagnostics using flow cytometer

·     Develop methods to assess cell composition using flow cytometry 

·     Provide scientific support to other projects

·     Perform good laboratory process (GLP) in cell culture and associated GLP assays within a laboratory, clean room and/or Aseptic Isolator

·     Assist Scientist in translational research and development of cell based therapy product

·     Participate in validation studies of processes and equipment as required

·     Produce, perform, and review standard operating policies & procedures (SOP’s)

·     Clearly and accurately record/transcribe and communicate translational & GLP procedures

·     Be aware of the regulatory requirements (GMP, GCP, etc) relevant to cell therapy product development and ensure compliance with the regulations

Education and experience

  • B.S. and/or Masters in Life Sciences with 2-4 years of relevant experience in industry setting preferably in cell-based product development or pre-clinical development

·      In-depth technical expertise in Fluorescent Flow Cytometry

  • Experience in working under GLP/GMP compliance or in a quality control environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of cell biology, characterization and functionality
