Software Support Scientist

 

Cytobank is looking for a superstar Software Support Scientist to provide first line assistance to its life science research customers. If you are analytical and like solving problems, but are also an excellent communicator, we’d love to chat. Cytobank is a cloud-based machine learning platform that is enabling faster, more thorough analysis, visualization, and management of high dimensional data in biological research. Leading scientists around the world use the platform to answer complex, cutting-edge scientific questions.

 

What you will be doing

  • You will be on the frontline of customer technical support - and in charge of managing the support work (prioritize, analyze, closing the loop), including handling troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Proactively engaging with customers to ensure that Cytobank functionality is understood and being used effectively
  • Interacting with Cytobank Software development and QA teams to troubleshoot technical issues and defining requirements for bug fixes
  • Working cohesively with Sales and Customer Service to help onboard new customers
  • Developing and maintaining support literature
  • Training customers online and in person

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biological science
  • 2 years experience using the Cytobank platform and/or other cytometry software
  • Coursework and/or experience with software development and/or informatics
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills, especially involving technical subject matter
  • A problem-solver, looking for the simplest solution to a problem
  • Independent worker but also a team player

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in biological sciences or informatics related field
  • Experience with fluorescent and mass cytometry
  • Experience with genomics
  • Experience with imaging technologies
  • Experience applying and optimizing machine learning algorithms for data analysis
  • Technical support experience
  • Technical writing experience
  • Ability to program in R
  • Experience using Zendesk

Position Details

  • Full time
  • Some travel (<20%) may be required
  • Prefer to have person based in Mountain View, CA but will consider other locations in the US
