
ASSOCIATE RESEARCHER II - 1825378
Description
The incumbent shall be charged with routine maintenance and QC of flow cytometry instrumentation including but not limited to BD FACSAria and Fortessa systems. In addition, the incumbent shall be expected to provide assisted operation of the same systems in support of institutional research projects of varying scope and discipline.
The Research Associate will be expected to maintain the flow cytometry facilities assigned with sufficient supplies and material to support institutional researchers. The Research Associate will be charged with recognizing when issues with CORE operations arise and communicating those issues to CORE management in a timely manner. The Research Associate may be called upon to assist institutional researchers in experimental design, data analysis, and instrument troubleshooting. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in sciences or related field.
Experience:
2 years in a research environment
or 1 year plus Master’s Degree in sciences or related field 1 year autonomous operation of a BD FACSAria cell sorter
Preferred:
5 years research experience in an academic laboratory
3 years autonomous operation of a BD FACSAria cell sorter Experience with computer programming in multiple languages Familiarity with implementation of BSL3 containment guidelines
