The University of Melbourne invests in state of the art research infrastructure to attract and retain excellent staff that drives innovation. The Technical Support Officer will be appointed as part of the Materials Characterisation and Fabrication Platform (MCFP), Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, University of Melbourne in a collaboration with the Melbourne Cytometry Platform. The MCFP is a research infrastructure platform that brings together instrumentation to support materials and biological science and engineering. The position provides technical support for key infrastructure on an open access basis within the materials science, nanobiotechnology and engineering areas of the University.

 

This position is primarily responsible for the provision of exceptional service and technical support for the CyTOF, including the operation of the CyTOF for researchers, maintenance of the CyTOF, the provision of expert cytometric advice, development of research projects and collaborations, the development of equipment, reagents and techniques. The successful candidate will serve within a flexible team of technical staff dedicated to the support of platforms and research infrastructure and report to the MCFP Platform Manager.

 

Employment Type: Full-time, fixed term for 3 years

 

Salary: $82,707 - $89,530p.a. AUD plus up to 17% superannuation
