Clinical Flow Cytomtery Technical Specialist

Seton Family of Hospitals is seeking applicants for an experienced flow cytometry technical specialist, to join an existing team that provides service to a diverse clinical population. Duties include instrument QC and maintenance on BD flow cytometers, specimen prep, antibody staining, and immunophenotypic analyses. Specialists will participate in design and validation of new tests (including high resolution PNH, leukemia MRD), in conjunction with the supervising pathologist.

 

The facility is located on the campus of Dell Children’s Medical Center, and serves the entire greater Austin metropolitan population. The lab processes approximately 1500 leukemia / lymphoma specimens yearly, and is continually growing in volume and complexity.

 

Qualified applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or Allied Health fields.


 

Other requirements include:

-         - Appropriate education credits as defined in CLIA 88 regulations to qualify individual as a Medical Technologist

-        - At least 5 years of experience as a MT

 - -  - At least 2 years of experience performing clinical flow cytometry immunophenotyping and analysis (preferred)

     - Familiarity with BD equipment and analysis software is helpful, but not necessary.
