Senior Research Specialist Flow Cytometry

A Senior Research Specialist is sought in the area of Flow Cytometry to setup and acquire data on state-of-the-art flow cytometers and analyze the data obtained using various advanced analysis software in the Flow Cytometry Core Facility, Research Resources Center (RRC), University of Illinois-Chicago in Chicago, Illinois USA.

This position designs and executes various projects, using appropriate fluorophores and antibodies for flow cytometry and luminex-platform based assay and prepare biological samples for flow cytometry and luminex-based platforms. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the operation and maintenance of highly-specialized analytical instrumentation and analyze data and document results for publication and reports using sophisticated software.

We are seeking an experienced specialist (Master’s degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, cell biology or related discipline. PhD preferred, and equivalent 3 years of direct laboratory research experience in flow cytometry required.) Familiarity with running samples on flow cytometers and cell sorters including CyTOF2 Mass Cytometer, Beckman Coulter Cyan ADP, MoFlo Astrios and Becton Dickinson Fortessa is strongly desired.  The position will require flexible hours as cell sorts or acquisitions may be performed for extended hours.
