Research Associate Technician, Flow Cytometry -  DeForest, WI

 

Description:  Sexing Technologies, Inc is seeking a talented and motivated individual with flow cytometry experience to provide technical support to the Research and Development groups and to commercially sort bovine and porcine sperm.  The successful candidate will help execute and analyze experiments using flow cytometry using various fluorophores in sperm from multiple species.  Additional responsibilities include overseeing the operation and maintenance of flow sorters, primarily SX MoFlo®, Genesis systems, CASA, and other general lab equipment.  

We are seeking an experienced specialist (bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related degree) with direct laboratory research experience in flow cytometry.   Familiarity with running samples on flow cytometers and cell sorters is strongly desired.  The position will require flexible hours as cell sorts or acquisitions may be performed for extended hours.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

   

Primary Responsibilities

·      Provide technical expertise for the optimization, execution, and analysis of flow cytometry experiments to support R&D programs

·      Operate and maintain multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter and multiple flow cytometers

·      Perform maintenance of additional laboratory equipment and maintain inventory of supplies

·      Assist in the design of complex, multi-color flow cytometry experiments

·      Cryopreservation of bovine and porcine sperm

·      Morphological assessment of primary and secondary bovine and porcine sperm
