Job Summary:

The Field Application Scientist (FAS) is primarily responsible for product demonstrations, installations and on-site customer training within the continental US. The FAS will provide pre- and post-sales support for customers, conducting technology seminars, workshops, data analysis and troubleshooting, and will work closely with sales account managers on technical sales activities. The FAS will act as the primary interface between customers and ACEA internal teams (corporate support, R&D, and engineering groups) for communication and resolution of all technical and scientific issues. The FAS will be required to participate in trade shows and contribute to the publication of scientific and marketing material. We are seeking someone with strong flow cytometry instrumentation knowledge; prior experience in customer support and training is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Conduct instrument installation, calibration, demonstrations, and training at customer sites and prepare formal reports for these pre-sale and post-sale activities

·       Respond to customer enquiries in a timely and professional manner

·       Trouble-shoot customer problems and lead development of solutions

·       Participate in flow cytometry assay or application development

·       Conduct technical seminars and present scientific data

·       Develop customer training materials

·       Perform other related duties and assignments as required

Requirements:

·       BS degree or higher in bioengineering, biology, biochemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in flow cytometry.  M.S. or Ph.D. is preferred.

·       Extensive hands-on knowledge of flow cytometry assay development for cell surface or internal marker analysis using fluorescent-dye-labeled antibodies. Direct experience in one or more of the following applications:  monitoring hematological malignancies or immunodeficiency disease, DNA/RNA content analysis (e.g. chromosome analysis, apoptosis, cell cycle analysis, cell proliferation/generational analysis), cellular viability analysis, phagocytosis, membrane potential, cell signaling.

·       Hands-on experience in the operation of commercial flow cytometry instruments

·       Strong interpersonal skills

·       Dynamic presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal)

·       Willing to travel (50 to 75% of time) for overnight domestic trips, with occasional international trips

·       A valid US driver’s license

·       Ability to analyze and interpret customer data for support purposes as well as positioning data from instrument demonstrations to facilitate sales

·       Prior experience in customer support or training on flow cytometry instrumentation is a plus

·       Experience with CRM software is a plus
