Description

Fate Therapeutics is seeking a talented and motivated individual with flow cytometry experience to provide technical support to the Research and Development groups. The successful candidate will help execute and analyze experiments using flow cytometry to evaluate novel hematopoietic cell-based therapeutics.  The candidate will also assist in the maintenance and operation of a fluorescence-activated cell sorter.  Candidates should have experience working with human specimens, including sample preparation, and analysis of flow cytometry data. This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Flow Cytometry and is located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·      Provide technical expertise for the optimization, execution, and analysis of flow cytometry experiments to support Fate’s R&D programs

·      Operate and maintain multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter and multiple flow cytometers

·      Perform maintenance of additional laboratory equipment and maintain inventory of supplies

·      Assist in the design of complex, multi-color flow cytometry experiments and optimize new antibody panels

·      Perform primary flow cytometry-based screening for the identification of novel cell therapeutics

·      Assist in the transfer of assays to Assay Development for use on clinical cell therapeutics

 

Requirements

·      B.S. degree or higher in Biological Sciences or other related field and 2+ years of laboratory experience

·      Attention to detail, excellent record keeping abilities, and willingness to work in a collaborative environment are a must

·      Qualified applicants should have familiarity with hematopoietic cell populations

·      Multicolor flow cytometry experimental design, staining, data acquisition, and analysis experience is a must

·      Familiarity with BD FACSDiva software and FlowJo is preferred; experience operating a FACSAria is preferred

 

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

·      100% on-site work at corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA

·      Occasional evening and weekend work will be required
