Specialist in flow cytometry, Humanitas Clinical and Research Center, Milan, Italy

 

A position for a flow cytometry facility specialist is immediately available at Humanitas Clinical and Research Center in Milan, Italy. The position is available for 3 years. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will manage the flow cytometry core, will operate machines and will provide scientific and technical supervision as well as training to basic scientists. The flow cytometry core is currently composed by a technician, with the possibility to enroll a second one, and is equipped with state-of-the-art machines, including an 18-color analyzer (BD Fortessa), cell sorter (BD FACSAria III), 4-, 6-and 8-color analyzers (BD FACSCalibur, FACSCanto I and II, respectively) and Biorad’s Bioplex  plate reader machine.

 

The optimal candidate should have good managing and organization skills and capacity to interact with other people in addition to a strong experience with flow cytometry technology, hardware and assays. Good English is required. Special interest in developing new flow cytometry assays will be considered a plus.

 

Humanitas Clinical and Research Center is currently composed by 20 laboratories with a total of 200 basic scientists performing research in different fields, with a special focus on immunology and inflammation (http://www.humanitas-research.org/). The research institute is equipped with additional facilities including, but not limited to confocal and in vivo microscopy, animal house, immunohistochemistry and genomics.
