Full Time - Research Investigator Senior for CYTOF

Duties           

The Research Investigator Sr will act in a leadership role, overseeing and designing advanced experiments using the CyTOF mass cytometer, a new $600,000 instrument that combines flow cytometry and mass spectroscopy. The individual will supervise the daily operation and associate high quality control of the use of the CyTOF. The investigator is responsible for training and educating new users of the CyTOF. Opportunities exist for planning, design, implementation, monitoring and analysis of mass cytometer techniques and translating the capability of the technology to PIs and junior researchers on a regular basis, indicating to researchers how they might best employ the cytometer applications in their experiments through consultation and advising. The individual will also be independently developing and conducting experiments. Data generated from experiments will be presented at meetings and seminars. The investigator will initiate the preparation of appropriate grant proposals to support existing projects and fund new research projects utilizing CyTOF mass cytometer technology. The individual will also prepare manuscripts describing work for publication in appropriate peer-reviewed journals and may play a role in supervising additional staff hired to assist in the operation of the CyTOF in the future.

 

Qualifications         

Highly advanced professional discipline. M.D., Ph. D., or equivalent doctoral degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience is required. Position contingent upon funding.
