The SCF serves the department by providing technology and support in flow cytometry and automated microscopy. The SCF works closely together with the Laboratory Automation Facility. Currently, our flow cytometry equipment consists of a MoFlo XDP, a customized BD Influx with 8 lasers, a BD FACSAria III, and two BD LSR Fortessa. The SCF will be staffed with five people, two of whom are dedicated to flow cytometry, two to microscopy, and one to image analysis and data management. Currently, we are looking for an experienced individual interested in a diverse and innovative work environment to fill the position of our second:

The successful candidate will develop and implement customized configurations in the areas of fluidics and excitation/emission optics. Training and support of users are an essential part of this profile.
The successful candidate will hold a degree from a technical college or a university with a strong background in flow cytometry. Requirements are extensive technical experience with state-of-the-art flow cytometry equipment, knowledge of quantitative cell analysis and high speed cell sorting. The candidate should have a strong knowledge of optical principles and hands-on skills in hardware integration and tuning. A working knowledge of biology is beneficial.
