*Job Summary: Field Application Specialist, eBioscience Division of
Affymetrix; Ideal candidate will be located in Boston or reside in the
Eastern United States.*

As the Field Application Scientist, you will build success by directly
working and supporting the field sales force with pre and post sales
activities. You will be expected to disrupt customers thinking and build consensus for Affymetrix solutions to secure deals.
The key product portfolios include reagents and technologies for Flow
cytometry, Elisa, Multiplex Immuno-assays on the Luminex platform, Luminex Instruments, QuantiGene technology & a world exclusive technology QG PrimeFlow for Gene expression on a single cell level by Flowcytometry.
Field Applications Scientists/Specialists (FAS) assist customers with the
use of the Affymetrix Systems and related technologies through both remote and on-site customer interactions. This Position reports to the Manager of Field Application Scientists.
*Primary Duties & Responsibilities:*
Use insight and consultative techniques to teach customers about
their industry and offer unique perspectives on their business, which link
back to Affymetrix/eBioscience solutions
Directly assist and support the field sales force with pre- and post-sales activities
Support the sales team members utilizing your expertise with
technical discussions, presentations, workshops, trainings, troubleshooting, etc.
Provide instructions on the use of our systems and related
technologies with discussions, demonstrations and on-site training when
needed and qualified
Set up and deliver customer product
demonstrations/evaluations/seminars
Troubleshoot problems
Provide in-house technical training as required.
Provide timely reports including training visit summary, customer site visits, and conference overviews.
Approximately 60-75% travel and may include occasional travel to
Western part of USA
Extend support in other territories, when needed.
Complies with company quality management systems, policies and procedures
Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs.
*Qualifications:*
Strong Molecular biology techniques in research or clinical lab
Minimum 5 years of hands on flow cytometry experience in
immunophenotyping and/or sorting. Preference would be 9 colors or more
PhD. Immunology background is a plus
Fluent in FlowJo/Diva/FCS Express analysis software
Strong immunoassay bench experience, preferably in ELISA and
multiplexing
Strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated English
fluency
Strong organizational and personal skills a must
High energy- enjoys traveling and interacting with scientists and
is a team player
