The company presently operates in over 24 states and provides medical services through outpatient pathology laboratories, hospital inpatient laboratories and outpatient surgery centers. Our Shelton, Connecticut lab has two immediate openings for a full time, first Shift Flow Cytometry Technologist.

Our Shelton, CT lab has immediate openings for a full time, first shift Flow Cytometry Technologist.  The hours for the position are 6:00am-2:30pm, Tuesday- Saturday.

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluates and makes best use of patient specimens.
- Performs assigned functions in flow, to include specimen preparation, testing, and evaluation as needed.
- Completes preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment as instructed by policies and procedures. Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions to ensure timely repair.
- Complies with all standards and regulatory requirements.
- Follows the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Responsible for accuracy and completeness of each case and all components included within. Follows up with supervisor any inconsistencies or discrepancies.
- Communicates regularly with supervisor.
- Participates in laboratory proficiency testing.
- Attends continuing education courses to ensure timely renewal of required licensing.
- Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reviews and observes all safety policies.
- Maintains all QC, maintenance, and specimen logs.
- Reviews all procedure manuals, equipment operator’s manuals and current policies.
- Ability and willingness to assume supervisory responsibility, in specific areas, if assigned.
- Maintains supply inventory and stocking, replenishes routine reagents, and properly disposes of out-dated ones.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Basic Requirements
- Associates Degree in Medical Technology
- One year of experience in flow cytometry
- Working knowledge of flow cytometers, centrifuges, pH meters, balances, pipettes and other general lab equipment

Preferred Requirements
- Associates Degree/Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, Biological, Life or General Sciences
- Three years of experience in flow cytometry
- ASCP for Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
