Head of Flow Cytometry Facility
Starting salary range =A335,000 p.a. to =A342,000 p.a.
The Babraham Institute is a charity which is world renowned for its research in life sciences to enhance lives and improve wellbeing.
We are seeking an experienced Flow Cytometrist to head the newly expanded Flow Cytometry Facility. The successful applicant will provide a cell sorting, analysis and training service to a broad range of individuals within the Babraham Research Campus as well as external customers.
The facility comprises of B.D. FACSAria III and Influx sorters and B.D. LSR Fortessa, LSRII and FACS Calibur analysers. Key responsibilities include management of the Facility; advanced multicolour sorting of (rare) cells from different tissues; quality control; supervising inexperienced FACS users; some health and safety guidance and liaison with sales staff and engineers. The successful applicant will have a BSc (or higher) in a biological science, knowledge of a broad range of flow cytometry techniques and ideally have experience in running a multi-user flow cytometry facility.
