Description of the work group/equivalent and its work/focus:

Regenerative medicine has as an important aim to replace lost cells, however the turnover of cells in physiological and pathological situations in many human organs is essentially unknown. Using a newly developed strategy, based on radiocarbon dating cell DNA, it is now possible to determine cell

and tissue age. The main focus of the research group is to assess cell turnover in brain and fat tissue

 

Area of responsibilities/duties:

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for analysis and sorting of cells/nuclei, and the overall running of the lab’s FACS machine. Whilst FACS operating will account for a significant portion of the employed time, other duties include ordering, lab maintenance and sample preparation.

 

Qualifications:

The applicant should be an experienced flow cytometrist, skilled in both in analyzing and sorting samples. Sample handling and knowledge of basic molecular biology and laboratory procedures is an advantage. The succesful candidate will be working with students and postdocs and must be well organized, punctual and above all, reliable.
