Cytobank, Inc. (www.cytobank.org) is seeking a highly qualified Field Application Specialist (FAS) to support the Cytobank cloud-based platform for organizing, analyzing and visualizing cytometry data.  The holder of this position will be responsible for providing first class technical and scientific support and guidance to Cytobank customers.  The FAS would be the primary customer contact for post-sales support and training in Europe.  They would work closely with Cytobank sales to provide technical and scientific pre-sales support in Europe.  The FAS would also work with Cytobank customers to translate scientific findings into bioinformatics tools on a project basis.

 

The successful candidate is highly self-directed, conscientious and articulate and possesses excellent presentation, teaching and communication skills.  They are also committed to total customer satisfaction with outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism.  A team player is essential as this position is expected to work with interdisciplinary groups within the organization.

 

This position will support all distributors managed from Europe and as such extensive travel can be expected.  The applicant must work in the London area or be able to relocate there.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

  • Provide pre-sales support to sales colleagues to promote adoption of Cytobank technology. Activities should include, but not be limited to:
    • Pre-sales co-visits
    • Seminars/presentations
    • Demonstrations
    • Trade show attendance
  • Provide on-site start-up training and guidance
  • Provide on-site and remote scientific application support to customers
  • Help customers optimize their applications on our products.
  • Become expert on all new products proposed by the company, and their different applications.
  • Primary contact for timely diagnosis and resolution of support issues.
  • Develop good relationship with customers and keep records of their applications.
  • Provide technical/scientific expertise both to external and internal partners.
  • Work with project teams to translate scientific finding into bioinformatics tools.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Hematology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related life science is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field support experience in a life science setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Cytometry and Cytometry data analysis is essential.  Experience with CyTOF, mass-cytometry data analysis is desired by not required.
  • Practical pre-sales experience with the ability to influence customer buying decisions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of high dimensional data analysis is desired.
