An independent, organized individual is sought to join the team of the new SCI-TReCS Flow Cytometry Core Facility. The core facility will contain a FACS Aria III Sorter, 2 FACS Verse and several multi-parameter cytometers, and will be located as a part of the Experimental & Clinical Cell Therapy Institute in the new M2 building on the PMU campus Salzburg. Duties will include routine operation and upgrading of the FACS Aria, as well as overseeing maintenance and use of the FACS Verse by individual experienced researchers. There will be a strong focus on bulk preparative (sterile) and single cell sorting. The experienced operator will also assist other users with managing, storage and analysis of flow data. There is an option to extend responsibility to flow cytometry training as well as assisting individual researchers with experiment’ design and analysis including polychromatic immune phenotyping, cell cycle and proliferation (CFSE) analysis, apoptosis, identification of transfected cells and calcium studies. The individual should be capable of setting up new flow cytometry techniques. This position will require interaction with researchers having variable background and training in flow cytometry.
The successful applicant will have at least 2 years of experience as a flow sort-operator. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in data analysis using standard software is required. Salary will be based on Austrian national standards (www.fwf.ac.at/de/projects/personalkostensaetze.html) depending on experience and qualification.
