ficoll of small volumes

hello all-

I am searching for the best way to ficoll small volumes of blood (i.e.,
100-200 of mouse blood) efficiently during sample prep for flow.

presently I am diluting the blood and spinning in 15 ml polypropylene tubes,
but the cell layer can be frighteningly thin.

can anyone suggest smaller tubes which have worked? our smaller 12x75mm tubes
are awfully cloudy and hard to see through.

thanks
