Simon,
we have started to use CBA from BD for quantifying inflammatory
cytokines from pediatric patients some time ago and our experience is
very positive. We have run samples vs. standard ELISAs of IL6, IL8 and
IL10 and the correlations were always >0.93. I have presented these data
on ISACXXI.
For us this system is very important, because we deal with samples from
neonates where we always run into problems with standard ELISAs because
of too low sample volumes. We tried CBA on our Laser Scanning Cytometer
and it works there as well and there should be no problem to run it on
any other machine. You only have set up your system once so that the low
and high standards are in scale and adjust the compensation (this takes
5min).

I hope this helps,
Attila Tarnok
