David Hedley and I are chairing a workshop on 'Detecting micrometastases'. This topic is an interesting exercise in rare event detection but, more importantly, has important clinical application. The purpose of the workshop is to look at methods in use and to discuss ways of improving an applying those methods. David will give an introduction outlining the clinical applications. I will review the methods being used, concentrating on the detection of epithelial carcinoma cells in bone marrow and blood. If anyone would like contribute, could they please get in contact.
