Jacek:
FACHT inspects and accredits a whole transplant program but not the
individual components (labs) as far as accreditation is concerned. The
transplant program is required to be using an "accredited lab" but that
requirement is meet via CAP certification and participation in a CD34
proficiency testing program (CAP or UK NEQAS).	When FACHT does inspect your
transplant program they will also inspect the flow lab that serves the
program (for CAP status, PT Programs, etc.). Your lab will then be
"approved" as part of the overall transplant program's approval.

Subject: FACT accreditation

Dear Flowers,

We are in the process of setting up CD34 enumeration in accordance with
ISHAGE
protocol (Beckman-Coulter kit). The director of a local stem cell
transplant program
(FACT-accredited) told me that any flow cytometry lab offering this test
should also
be accredited by FACT.

Is anyone here accredited by FACT? While waiting for response from FACT I
visited
their website (http://www.unmc.edu/Community/fahct/Default.htm). It lists
couple of
online applications, but none of them seem to be applicable to a flow
cytometry lab.

Thanks for your help.
