Since you are at a medical center, do you have access to a university
catalog?  Here at UT it is called a "Stores" catalog, or a catalog for
the facility that stocks items for the entire institution.  
In this catalog, we can find pens, pencils, paper, and to the point,
0.9% Normal Saline sold in sterile 1 liter bags from Baxter and is the
same stuff used in the hospitals.  For us it is fairly cheap when taking
into account the reagents, sterilizaiton, containers, and time.

Our facility probably isn't' as busy as yours but we've only had one
contamination of the Vantage in the last 2.5 years...
