precedent for freezing effects on phenotype

Hello group,
Concerning the effect of freezing and thawing on immunophenotype, say
for leukocyte subsets . . .  all I have are personally communicated
impressions (perhaps higher background, loss of cells, antigen
expression changes).  Are there published comparisons of differences, if
any?  I've searched without success, yet . . . still looking.  Any
references making comparisons of frozen to fresh, perhaps looking to
optimize, would be greatly appreciated.
