Description:
Responsible for planning and executing R&D projects in the field of cell
analysis. The projects involve literature and patent research, concept
development, feasibility studies, and development of assay technology and
systems for the detection, characterization, quantitation, and
identification of biological entities like pro- and eu-karyotic cells and
other biological agents. Good experimental design, critical data
analysis, and good documentation of the results is required. At least 50%
of the activity will be directly related to laboratory work. Study of
existing and new technology must be translated into product concepts
rapidly. Studies must be performed and documented under GLP.
Qualifications:
Typically requires Ph.D. in a BioScience or Physical Science or MD with
several years of hands-on experience working with biological cells, or
equivalent combination of related education and experience. Good
analytical skills, demonstrated ability for effective planning,
implementation and evaluation of experiments, as well as good
communication skills are required. Experience with flow cytometry and/or
microscopic image analysis as well as good knowledge in microbiology and
molecular biology is required.
