Designed With Advanced Users In MindUsers need flexible analysis capabilities in a flow cytometer. The EPICS XL is designed to give users a wide range of choices in advanced applications. In addition to its 4-color capability, the XL can acquire up to 12 parameters simultaneously from a total choice of 21. Users can create and store their own protocols and panels for their particular applications. For research requiring sample handling flexibility, the XL offers two modes | of sampling: the MCL Autoloader for large workloads and hands-off sampling; and the Single Tube loader for greater sample interaction and manual control.
Digital Processing For Superior LinearityFor assays requiring fluorescence quantitation, the XL has replaced log amplifiers with digital log transformation for ultra-linear and reproducible results. And since the XL is the first instrument without log amplifiers, instrument-to-instrument reproducibility is unsurpassed. | 
The XL uses a unique optotransputer board with a fiber optic cable for high speed data transmission. Transputers are also used for instrument control, linear to log transformation and digital compensation. |
