COULTER™ CD28-FITC, CD28-RD1
CD28 antigen is a co-stimulatory molecule for T cell activation. It is found on both resting and activated T cells. Ligation of CD28 by CD 80 (B7) on antigen presenting cells leads to an increased cytokine production and T cell proliferation. COULTER CD28-FITC and CD28-RD1 are ready-to-use, liquid antibodies for fundamental research and are not for clinical diagnostic use.
Log Fluorescence Histogram (CD28-FITC)![]()
Single parameter histogram of a lysed whole blood sample stained with CD28-FITC and gated on the lymphocyte region. The analysis region is based on an isotypic control.

Molecular Orientation![]()
CD28 antigen has a molecular weight of 88 kD. It is a disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein.
Cell Type
CD28 is a T cell activation marker found on the surface of most T lineage cells, and may be found on plasma cells.
Ontogeny
![]()
COULTER (TM)
CD28-FITC, CD28-RD1Specificity
CD28 is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of 95% of CD4 lymphocytes, 50% of CD8 lymphocytes and 5% of immature CD3 thymocytes. The density of CD28 increases on CD4+CD8+ thymocytes as they mature. CD28 antigen density is further enhanced by activation.
