Interestingly, Biogen Inc (Cambridge MA) claims to own the patent rights to
all antibodies against CD40L (see patent # 5,474,771), licensed from Columbia
University for their developed clone#5C8). They have served notice of
potential infringement to various vendors so you may want to get your
antibody soon!

By the way, is anyone aware of a similar claim by Becton Dickinson for CD34
which I thought was overturned by a higher level patent court? If not, then
any patents on one clone could begin to expand to make all other clones
infringers. This will dimish choice and/or make these natibodies even more
expensive if numerous licenses are needed! Welcome to the world pf biotech
patents.!

Sincerely,
Research Diagnostics Inc
