Carolyn D. Dawson recently inquired about calcium analysis software
for HP FACStar + data. MFI has considerable capability in this regard,
is free, and runs on DOS or Windows systems. It can read correctly
nearly all FCS listmode file formats in common use, including HP 310
and 340. MFI can plot a parameter vs. time (if time was recorded in the
listmode file) or against event number (if time was not recorded), i.e.
pseudotime. In addition to a dotplot, MFI generates a line graph of the
median value vs. time or pseudotime. If the listmode file does not include
the desired ratio of two parameters acquired, MFI can calculate the ratio
and use it as an additional parameter. Be sure to get the beta-test
version which has additional capabilities and no 'serious' known bugs. Get
