FACS PC Acquisition

I'm curious what experiences people on the cytometry mailing list may
have had using IBM compatible PC's to acquire data from B-D FACScan or
FACStar. We've got the old HP Pascal 3.1 systems on ours, and I'm
wondering if upgrading to a 3rd party PC system is superior to the HP
Pascal 3.2/LYSYS II system. Where is the best place to get a
PC/software package for this purpose? Phoenix? Verity? Others?
What is the best OS? MS-DOS 5/6 w/ Windows? OS2? What would the
cost be?
