PI TOXICITY?

Please help me win a bet with my boss (I already owe him 3 lunches).
Since the latest discussion about PI staining, we were discussing
protocols and there were a few shall we say disagreements...

1) Is PI toxic to cells?

2) What is the minimum incubation time for PI and cells, say for
live/dead discrimination or DNA?

Thanks (I hope),

Judy the Gambler
