As I remember from my phisics course, the laser that is not used is getting
old the same way (maybe a little slower ;-) ) the one that IS used does.
I have found that we own a Coherent Inova 70 water-cooled laser that had
been laying in our basement for almost 5 yrs, for the reason unknown. Never
used, straight from the sunny California.
Now, the question is: is it (the laser) still worth a penny or is it lost
forever? I'd like to have a hint before I call and ask Coherent people to
check it ($).
We could consider selling it if it were good enough... I'd only have to ask
my boss ;-)
If you wonder WHY all those questions here, I have inherited a flowcyt lab
recently and try to put my house in order.
And, as before, the 2nd question concerning the service: do (in US or EC)
the BD people service the lasers in their machines or, do you have to call
Coherent (or whoever had made your laser) to take a look at your optics?
