Well, it sounds to me remarkably as if B-D are feeding you a load of
bull****! We have purchased recently from them an entire (!) used H-P.340
computer system for off-line data analysis, including monitor, printer,
benoulli drive, all the bells & whistles, at around $2,100 for the whole lot!
Thus, quoting you in excess of $3,000 just for the hard drive unit alone
sounds like rubbish to me! Alternatively, you could try contacting George
Michalewicz at Norco Computer Systems (216-572-4040/800-892-1920), or Richard
Cox at Flow Cytometry Support (408-370-6327), both of whom deal with used H-P
