To add to the discussion of Dr. Shankey's...
We have also been doing FITC, PE and PI on and Elite and we have found that
the further you go into the red away from the PE the better off you are in
terms of compensation. We have tried a 675 bp filter for the PI and it
improves the subtraction problem (not eliminate) and recently we purchased
a 685+/-5 nm filter to try also. Additionally, a very narrow bandpass +/-5 nm
for the PE helps a lot.
