A much-enhanced version of my free PC-based list-mode cytometry data
analysis program MFI is now available for beta testing. Get it by
anonymous FTP from flowcyt.bio.umass.edu in directory
/pub/flowcyt/mfi/beta.dir, file mfi-zip.exe. It is a self-extracting zip.
Remember to get as BINARY.

This is being made available as a beta-test release so that users who wish to
test it can report any last-minute bugs to me for fixing before 3.4H is
officially released.

A much-revised tutorial is available in the same place (get MFITUTOR.EXE).
It now includes sample calcium flux files kindly provided by Keith Kelley.

FACStation 1.0 is now supported.

The most important enhancements provide kinetic dotplots and line graphs.
These can be produced vs. event number even when time is not a listmode event
parameter.

Up to 3 screens of dot plots (up to 9 dot plots per screen) can now be
displayed. Gated and ungated dot plots can be shown side by side. Although
gated 2-color dot plots can now be displayed, quadrant analysis is not
implemented (use WinMDI for that!).

Gate parameters are now more easily set, and 3-parameter gates can
be set graphically. Time or event number can be used as a gate parameter.

The program needs only 480K of free DOS memory.
