Red cell senescence

Greetings from the soon to be Great White North,
We are interested in evaluating changes to rbc's in stored vs fresh
packed cells for the purpose of transfusion and ultimately tissue
oxygenation. Any information regarding the availability of reagents for
senescence antigens or methodologies would be greatly appreciated. Also,
is anyone aware of a reasonable method for looking at changes in red cell
deformability? Can this be done by flow?
Thanks in advance,
Lori Rudzitis
