We are now performing a neutrophil function assay for CGD based on
measuring fluorescence of rhodamine-123 after the oxidative burst.
The method is based on M.R.G. O'Gorman's published procedure.

In order to investigate more patients we are evaluating the procedure
to allow neutrophil function to be tested on 24 hr samples. I was
wondering if there are any users that have done this? The two initial
variables as I see it are: the choice of anticoagulant and whether
neutrophil activation can be minimized by keeping blood in a plastic
tube before testing.
